We’re hiring: Research Assistant in 3D Printing with Clay:

FORM Lab (Dr. Vatandoost) at the Taubman College of Architecture at the University of Michigan is looking for a motivated Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to ongoing research in 3D printing with Clay, digital fabrication, and computational design.

The position is ideal for someone interested in the intersection of architecture, material experimentation, robotics/digital fabrication, ceramic-based additive manufacturing, and sustainable construction technologies.

The Research Assistant will support work related to:

• Clay-based 3D printing experiments

• Material preparation, testing, and documentation

• Digital modeling and toolpath generation

• Fabrication setup, printing trials, and post-processing

• Research documentation, visual material, and publications

We are especially interested in candidates with experience or strong interest in one or more of the following areas: 3D printing, ceramics, computational design, Rhino/Grasshopper, robotic fabrication, architectural design, material research, or digital fabrication workflows.

This is a great opportunity for students or early-career researchers who want hands-on experience in an experimental research environment and are excited by the messy, beautiful, occasionally stubborn reality of working with clay.
